Moving Story I heard at Auschwitz-Birkenau Concentration Camp Museum

World's biggest crematorium and venue of perhaps largest genocide in human history. 1.5M people killed here in 5 years.

Here's one of many heart wrenching stories. A mother, her 7 year old son and infant daughter were transported on one of those cattle cars into Birkenau under the pretext that they were going to settle in a new land and start a new life. Upon arrival the males and females were separated. The little boy stepped out of his group and followed his mother and sister as there group was marching towards a 'sanitization' facility. The mother suspected something perilous and asked the boy to return to his group. The boy was stubborn and kept following his family. With no other choice the mom pushed him asking him to get away. The boy fell. Deeply disturbed, he cursed his mother and said she hated him and wanted to get rid of him. He shouted that he wished she would die. That was the last he saw of her. The women were gassed within a few hours.

Beware of what you say to loved ones, in the heat of the moment. It may the last words that you'll have to live with for the rest of your life.
