Thrive with Ease - Discover Calm, Culture and the Inner Child at Peace in the Park

On August 23rd, 2014 San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park will host to one of the most important festivals of our time. After starting as a one-time event in 2013 and receiving rave reviews from the community, Peace in the Park festival is back for its second edition.

Here are some questions that compelled us to create this event.

What’s YOUR calling to peace?
We live in an overly stimulated, ADD-afflicted and tech-saturated culture and it is important to learn to slow down. Very few programs at schools, colleges and corporations provide us the necessary life-skills needed to deal with stressors in positive ways. At Peace in the Park, you will be exposed to at least a dozen different techniques to unplug and unwind. The festival line-up includes some of the best scientists, yoga teachers, meditation instructors, peace artists and more.

Have YOU found your tribe?
Living a conscious life, with high ideals for the self and the world, can be a challenging path to walk alone. Finding like-minded folks enhances the joy in the process significantly. This festival is an opportunity to connect with your tribe, which will make the ride enjoyable. Have fun sharing with kindred spirits, on a beautiful day, in a beautiful setting!

When’s the last time YOU felt like a child?
We all remember what it was like to be a child, when peace and joy were quite natural. There was not a care as we danced, skipped and sang without worrying about what others thought or said. But this may be a distant memory. Return to that space in a safe environment; get that skip back into your strut, led by instructors. Bring out that child within!

What price are YOU willing to pay for peace?
You can't put a price on it! This amazing gathering of speakers, dancers, teachers, musicians and art forms is available to you for free. And, there's something in it for everyone, whether you are a 5-year old or an 80-year old. The festival is completely volunteer-run and everyone, from the world-famous brain scientist to the face-painter, is doing it from the love of his or her heart.

What’s YOUR response to the crises in the world?
Do you feel you want to do something about the state of our world today? And, do you feel powerless to do anything about it? You can respond to the many crises with your positive energy. Perhaps it's the most powerful response. Amidst all the fun, the entire festival will 'Pause for World Peace’ twice during the day, at 3pm and 5:30pm, to turn inwards and send a blessing to the world. Together we can heal ourselves and the world!

Peace in the Park will be held at the Golden Gate Park bandshell, between the de Young Museum and the California Academy of Sciences, at 11am on August 23rd, 2014 in San Francisco.

Lastly, if you live far from the San Francisco Bay Area, you should consider bringing Peace in the Park to your community. The San Francisco team would love to support you!
